Snow Gun Going like a Dream
The snow gun is up and running now, and seem to be working superbly compared to the Sufag model. We have had some ideal conditions over the last couple of days, humidity has been high a couple of times, but has been dropping to around 50% later in the day, might get a bit milder shortly ,then back to cold temps so it should get a good test over the next week or so. It is very easy to rig up and rig down and the new sumps we have put in are coping with the water demand. It is not going to be a magic wand however, but we are confident of producing some good test results by the end of the season. I will keep you updated.
Still not enough snow for opening yet, but not much more is needed to get the top open. If the forecasted snows arrive later this week, and the wind plays ball, there could be a chance of getting something on for Saturday. We will have a better idea after Friday's OPs meeting.
Cheers
Colin

when you say 'tied in' I assume you mean that the haul ropes with be secured directly to the sheave trains.
Wee bit wind yesterday! Hope not too much storm damage to recover from.... did the anemometer survive? What did it record yesterday???
Yes we will get some more footage of the gun in action. We are getting the water from the burn, the lower mountain has a lot of water as all the upper streams converge, near and below the middle station, last time i looked it was using 2 litres a second. It will use more water the colder it gets, as the machine detects the optimum conditions. All the nozzles did not come on at -5, so we will see what happens when we get even lower temps. We are lucky the burn water is quite cold, as some resorts have to cool their water before it goes through their guns.

Be great to get some video of the TechnoAlpin in action, looks a smashing piece of kit. Where's the water drawn from? Is it thirsty?
oooh nice piece of kit, fingers crossed for a weekend opening. All the best for the winter and seee youuuu sooooon. Now, w
here did I put those skis?????
Hi
Thanks for the comments, yes if we get open at the weekend, we will stay open for the season as long as the weather allows. If the Hurricane force winds materialise, we might have to sort a bit of storm damage. The lifts will get tied in today, so hopefully there will not be too many ropes off, might be a fair bit of digging out though, if we get heavy snow as well.
Cheers

Sweet!
Great news, on both the snow cannon and the possibility of Saturday opening, it's coming!
Hi Colin,
Good luck on getting open for weekend. If you manage to open, will you be open through the week (conditions allowing)?
