Essential Summit Trail*:
Our ‘must-do’ experience exploring the heart of the Cairngorms National Park!
It might be easier than you think to walk to the summit of Cairn Gorm – why not head out from the Top Station alongside one of our knowledgeable guides, learning about the unique fauna and flora that survive in the elevated elements? Reaching incredible heights of over 4,000ft, you’ll experience memorable panoramas of the whole of the Cairngorms and breathtaking views.
Every day between May and October small groups of up to 10 visitors can enjoy this 90 minute guided walk on a mountain trail path to the summit.
Children must be accompanied. Please call 01479 861261 to discuss booking Under 8’s as conditions may not be suitable on the day.
|Clothing Required:||Waterproofs, walking shoes/boots or good sturdy trainers. Hats and gloves recommended even in the height of summer.|
|Timings:||10.30am and 1.30pm|
Wilderness Day Hike*:
Join one of our countryside Rangers for a walk into the wildest parts of the Cairngorms, starting from the Ranger Base in the Base Station. If the weather and the walkers are in good form, the walk may make it up on to the Cairngorm plateau for the incredible sweeping views there!
This is an all-day hill walk, so bring your lunch and a drink, and dress for the occasion! This means hill walking boots, full body cover, a hat and windproof/waterproof clothing.
Children must be accompanied, and dogs must be kept on a lead. This walk is not recommended for under 8’s.

Walk Up, Funicular Railway Down:
Those wishing to make their own way up CairnGorm Mountain will have the opportunity to purchase a Funicular Railway ticket for the way back down from the Shop @ The Top.
