Getting Here
Thankfully, the Cairngorms National Park is easy to reach whether you’re travelling by car, bus, train or even from further afield via plane.
Getting to CairnGorm Mountain is straight forward by car and public transport. If you’re feeling up to it you can even come by bike – though there is a bit of a hill climb at the end (let the ticket office know that you have come by bike to get a complimentary funicular ticket).
By Car
CairnGorm Mountain car park is 9 miles from Aviemore. From Aviemore take the B970, continue along the road and follow the signs to CairnGorm Mountain past Glenmore and up the mountain.
By Bus - TIMETABLE
Both Stagecoach and Citylink operate regular bus services to Aviemore and from Aviemore Station you can get a bus up to CairnGorm Mountain. You can reach Aviemore via the Express Coaches from London Victoria and all over the country, or travel with Citylink and Megabus.

By Train
There is a main train station in Aviemore and regular trains from Edinburgh, Perth, Glasgow, Inverness and even an overnight sleeper from London. Anyone looking to travel by train can make journeys from across the UK with Scotrail and East Coast Trains using National Rail, Raileasy or Thetrainline. There are numerous railway stations at the west of the park including the likes of Dalwhinnie, Newtonmore, Kingussie, Aviemore and Carrbridge with trains between London’s Kings Cross and Inverness stopping off at Kingussie and Aviemore.
By Plane
The nearest Airport is Inverness, just over 1 hours drive from CairnGorm Mountain. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports are all around 2 hours drive away.
